Address the underlying imbalances driving your chronic symptoms and health concerns with a unique blend of three natural medicine approaches, personalized root-cause strategies, and effective natural therapies like food and herbs.

Natural Medicine in Arkansas

If you're searching for natural medicine in Arkansas, chances are you're looking for more than another quick fix.

Maybe you've been told your symptoms are simply part of getting older. Maybe your lab work came back "normal," even though you don't feel like yourself. Or perhaps you've tried countless diets, supplements, medications, or wellness trends, only to find yourself wondering why nothing seems to create lasting change.

You deserve answers and real solutions — not just symptom management.

I help women throughout Arkansas uncover the root causes behind their hormone imbalances, fatigue, digestive concerns and gut problems, weight gain, metabolic dysfunction, sleep issues, and symptoms related to toxins and pollution. By combining naturopathic medicine, Chinese medicine, and functional medicine, I create personalized plans designed to restore health, rebalance the body, and help you feel like yourself again!

I work virtually with women throughout the state, including Little Rock and Central Arkansas, Northwest Arkansas, the River Valley, Northeast Arkansas, and many rural communities where access to natural medicine practitioners is limited.

Root Cause Solutions that Restore Health

Natural medicine isn't defined by one therapy or one philosophy. It's a way of approaching health that recognizes the body's remarkable ability to heal and the incredible power of natural therapies to facilitate that process.

Natural medicine may incorporate:
    •  Clinical nutrition
    •  Herbal medicine
    •  Lifestyle medicine
    •  Functional laboratory testing
    •  Nutritional supplementation
    •  Sleep optimization
    •  Stress resilience
    •  Detoxification support
    •  Gut cleanses
    •  Whole-person health strategies

Every recommendation should be individualized because everyone has a different story — even if they share many of the same symptoms or have been diagnosed with the same medical condition.

What Is Natural Medicine?

Many women reach their 40s expecting some changes in their health — but they don't expect to feel like a stranger in their own body.

Energy disappears.
Weight becomes more difficult to manage.
Sleep changes.
Digestion becomes unpredictable.
Hormones seem out of balance.
Brain fog affects productivity.
Mood impacts relationships and family life.

Many women are told these symptoms are "normal" or just part of getting older. While hormonal transitions like perimenopause are certainly real, that doesn't mean you have to accept feeling unwell — even as you age! More often than not, multiple systems are interacting beneath the surface. That's why a whole-person, root-cause approach is so valuable.

Why More Women in Arkansas Are Seeking Natural Medicine

A Personalized Blend of Naturopathic Medicine, Chinese Medicine, and Functional Medicine

One of the questions I often hear is: "What's the difference between naturopathic medicine, Chinese medicine, and functional medicine?"

Although these three disciplines share many common principles, each contributes something unique to the way I understand health and healing.

My care is grounded in naturopathic medicine, enriched by Chinese medicine, and further informed by functional medicine. Together, they allow me to understand your health from multiple complementary perspectives while creating personalized plans designed to identify the root causes of imbalance and restore health.

Click the down arrows below to learn more about naturopathic medicine, Chinese medicine, and functional medicine — and how each contributes to my personalized, root-cause approach to restoring health.

naturopathic medicine

Naturopathic medicine is the foundation of everything I do.

It was my first formal training and continues to shape how I think about health, healing, and patient care. Rather than focusing on isolated symptoms or diagnoses, naturopathic medicine views the body as an interconnected whole and seeks to understand the underlying causes of illness.

Every system influences another — from hormones and digestion to metabolism, detoxification, immune function, sleep, and stress resilience.

Instead of asking, "What medication matches this symptom or condition?" naturopathic medicine asks, "Why is this symptom happening in the first place?"

Naturopathic medicine shapes the questions I ask, the connections I look for, and the way I approach every patient's health story. That means your care is never based on symptoms alone, but on understanding your health picture as a whole and creating personalized solutions that restore health.

chinese medicine

Chinese medicine became the next major chapter in my professional journey and added another complete system of medicine to the way I understand health.

With thousands of years of clinical observation behind it, Chinese medicine evaluates patterns of imbalance within the whole person rather than focusing solely on individual symptoms or diseases. It recognizes the dynamic relationships between the body's organ systems and offers another lens for understanding why health has shifted out of balance.

Chinese medicine expands the way I recognize patterns of imbalance, offering another complete perspective for understanding how seemingly unrelated symptoms may be connected. For you, that means a more individualized understanding of your health and recommendations that are tailored to your unique pattern of imbalance — not simply your diagnosis or symptoms.

functional medicine

Functional medicine adds another valuable layer to my approach by providing a clinical framework for organizing and applying information about the body's interconnected systems.

Unlike naturopathic medicine and Chinese medicine, which are complete systems of medicine, functional medicine is a systems-based clinical framework that can be incorporated by many different types of healthcare providers.

Because every practitioner brings a different educational background and clinical philosophy to functional medicine, how it is practiced can vary considerably. In my practice, it builds upon my training in naturopathic medicine and Chinese medicine, allowing me to further personalize care while staying true to the whole-person, root-cause philosophy that has always guided my work.

Conditions Commonly Addressed

Many women begin their health journey focused on a single symptom or concern — fatigue, weight gain, digestive issues, or hormone changes.

But symptoms rarely exist in isolation. More often, they reflect interconnected patterns involving multiple body systems.

Click the down arrows to explore the topics below, and learn how my root-cause, whole-person approach looks beyond individual symptoms to restore balance and health.

hormone imbalance

Hormones don’t operate in isolation.

Symptoms like irregular periods, PMS, mood changes, hot flashes, night sweats, low libido, acne, and difficulty losing weight reflect deeper imbalances involving nutrition, stress, gut health, inflammation, thyroid function, insulin regulation, or detoxification.

Rather than focusing only on individual hormones and their lab levels, I look at how the entire system is functioning together — and what is driving the imbalance in the first place. Hormone imbalances always have deeper root causes.

perimenopause

Perimenopause is not simply a “low estrogen” or “hormone replacement” conversation — it is a whole-body transition affecting nearly every system in the body.

Shifts in brain chemistry, insulin sensitivity, thyroid function, stress resilience, sleep architecture, adrenal function, and inflammatory signaling all play a role in how this transition is experienced.

This is why two women with similar lab values can feel completely different.

My approach focuses on supporting your entire system — nutrition, metabolism, hormones, digestion, nervous system, immune function, and lifestyle — so that the body can move through this transition with greater stability, energy, and resilience rather than disruption.

fatigue + low energy

Persistent fatigue is one of the most common — and most overlooked — reasons that women begin seeking natural medicine support.

When energy is low, it is often attributed to stress, aging, or being “too busy,” but chronic fatigue is typically a sign that multiple systems in the body are out of balance.

Energy production is not controlled by one factor. It is influenced by thyroid function, insulin regulation, mitochondrial health, sleep quality, stress hormones, nutrient status, inflammation, gut health, and the body’s ability to process and eliminate toxins.

This is why fatigue can feel so frustrating — it rarely has a single cause, and it rarely improves with rest alone.

My approach focuses on identifying the underlying patterns that are disrupting energy production and restoring balance across the systems that support vitality, resilience, and daily function.

weight gain + metabolism

Weight gain is often one of the earliest signs that the body is no longer functioning in balance — not simply a reflection of calories or willpower.

Changes in insulin sensitivity, thyroid function, stress hormones, sleep quality, inflammation, gut health, nutrition, and environmental exposures can all influence how the body stores energy and how efficiently it uses energy.

Rather than focusing solely on weight loss, I work to understand the underlying metabolic patterns contributing to weight gain so we can support healthier metabolism, improved energy, and long-term wellness.

thyroid dysfunction

Thyroid function is deeply interconnected with nutrition, metabolism, stress, blood sugar, sex hormones, gut health, inflammatory load, and toxin exposure.

When energy is low, weight is resistant to change, or brain fog persists, the thyroid is often part of a broader pattern of imbalance — not an isolated issue.

Rather than focusing solely on thyroid hormone levels, I look at the bigger picture to understand what may be influencing thyroid function in the first place. By identifying and addressing these underlying patterns, we can support healthier thyroid function while restoring balance throughout the body.

gut health + digestion

The gut is not just a digestive organ — it is a central communication hub between the immune system, hormones, metabolism, and even brain function.

When the gut is not functioning optimally, symptoms may appear far beyond digestion, including fatigue, brain fog, skin changes, hormone imbalance, mood shifts, and difficulty regulating weight.

Common digestive concerns such as bloating, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, and food sensitivities often reflect deeper patterns involving the integrity of the gut lining, microbial balance, digestive enzyme function, inflammation, stress physiology, and immune activity.

Rather than viewing digestive symptoms in isolation, I evaluate how gut health is influencing — and being influenced by — the rest of the body’s systems. This allows us to identify the root patterns contributing to imbalance and support more comprehensive healing.

sleep disturbances

Quality sleep is essential for hormone regulation, brain health, metabolism, immune function, and the body's ability to repair and restore itself.

Difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking feeling unrefreshed often reflects deeper imbalances involving stress physiology, blood sugar regulation, hormone shifts, inflammation, microbial disturbances, or nervous system function.

By identifying the factors disrupting restorative sleep, we can help support deeper, more consistent rest — an essential foundation for healing.

stress + burnout

Stress affects far more than emotional wellbeing. Over time, chronic stress can influence hormone balance, digestion, blood sugar regulation, immune function, inflammation, sleep quality, and energy production.

Many women become so accustomed to functioning in a constant state of stress that it begins to feel "normal," even as their bodies continue signaling otherwise.

My approach focuses on understanding how stress is affecting the whole person while supporting greater resilience, nervous system regulation, and long-term restoration.

inflammation

Inflammation is a normal and necessary part of the body's healing response. However, when inflammation becomes chronic or poorly regulated, it can contribute to a wide range of symptoms and health concerns.

Persistent inflammation may influence hormone balance, metabolism, digestive health, energy, immune function, pain levels, and overall wellbeing.

Rather than viewing inflammation as the problem itself, I look for the underlying factors driving it — such as nutrition, gut health, stress, environmental exposures, microbial imbalances, food reactions, or metabolic dysfunction — so we can address the root causes, lower inflammation, and support healthier function throughout the body.

toxins + detoxification

Detoxification is not a trend or a short-term cleanse — it is a continuous, built-in physiological process that depends on the coordinated function of multiple body systems.

The liver, gut, kidneys, lymphatic system, skin, and lungs all play a role in processing and eliminating compounds the body no longer needs. When these systems are overburdened or not functioning efficiently, symptoms can appear across many areas of health.

These may include fatigue, hormone disruption, skin changes, digestive issues, headaches, pain, brain fog, mood imbalances, and difficulty recovering from stress.

Rather than solely focusing on “detox protocols,” my approach includes supporting the body’s natural detoxification capacity by improving nutrition, gut health, metabolic balance, stress resilience, drainage pathways, and overall system function.

When these foundational systems are supported, the body is better able to maintain balance in the face of constant environmental exposures.
